DAY 01 : Arrive Gwalior
Kick start your royal Madhya Pradesh holiday tour by arriving at Gwalior. An ancient city, it is steeped in history and rich with royal splendor. Upon arrival, be met and transferred to your hotel by TUI representative. Rest a while, then set off to sightsee the various sites in the city like the Gwalior Fort, a dominant structure. Head up the hilly road to see the Jain Tirthankaras' statutes carved out of rock. Also visit the Jai Vilas Palace and Museum. Spend the remaining day doing your own thing or explore the city. Return to hotel for the night.

DAY 02 : Gwalior - Datia - Orchha
Proceed to Orchha on your second day of royal Madhya Pradesh tour once you are done with breakfast. On the way visit Datia (1 - 2 hrs drive), also known as Daityavakra in the Mahabharata. The top monuments are the 7 storied Raja Bir Singh Deo palace and the Gopeshwar Temple. After this stop over, drive to Orchha. Afternoon proceed for the sightseeing tour of Orchha. Check out the various forts and temples and return to the hotel for the night.

DAY 03 : Orchha - Khajuraho
A hearty breakfast will prep you for the journey to Khajuraho (150 kms/ 4 hrs). On arrival, at Khajuraho, check-in at your hotel. Soak in the wonderful sound and light show held at the Khajuraho temple complex. Overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 04 : Khajuraho
Day 4 of the Khajuraho holiday package takes you on a tour of the beautiful Western collection of temples. Khajuraho's temples are a `world heritage` site due to the rich architecture. Best known for their intricately carved sculptures and carving, they will take your breath away. Spend the remaining day at pleasure and return to hotel for night stay.

DAY 05 : Departure
Enjoy breakfast and get transferred to the airport to board a flight for your next destination.

A historically important city in Madhya Pradesh, it's close to Agra and the state's capital, Bhopal. One of the largest cities in Central India, it is often called, the 'Tourist Capital' of the state. The capital of Rajput Empires like Pratiharas, Kachwahas, Tomars, and Marathas, Gwalior has several remnants of their rule in the form of palaces, forts, temples, and other monuments lending a royal appeal to this city.

Places to see:
  • Gwalior Fort Fondly known as the 'Gibraltar of India,' it is known for its tremendous architecture and resilience. Perched on a hill, with the Gwalior city around it, this fort is a good tourist attraction.
  • Samadhi of Rani Laxmi Bai - This site is dedicated to two of the most loved and revered freedom fighters in India, Rani Lakshmibai and Tatya Tope. There are plenty of gardens along the Samadhi like PhoolBagh and Ambedkar.
  • Gwalior Zoo A good zoo having Krishnamrigs or Blackbucks as the main attractions. The zoo also has Tiger cubs.

Located in Chhatarpur district, this town is famous for its excellently carved stone temples especially its erotic sculptures.

Places to see:
  • Khajuraho Temples These temples were built in the span of 200 years. They are the finest example of Indian architectural styles. Made out of sandstone, the wonder of this construction is that it has precise joints which have been made without the use of mortar
  • Kalinjar Fort - Situated on the rock hill the fortress is located near the town of Khajuraho, this fort is a typical example of hill-fortress
Things to do:
  • The Khajuraho Dance festival held every year in the first week of February. Various Classical dances, backdrop of the Chitragupta or Vishwanath temples.
  • There is light and sound show held on a daily basis during the evening hours which is a plight to watch.


Orccha is a small town in Madhya Pradesh with its 16th and 17th century temples and palaces stretching along the Betwa River. The town about 125 Kms south of Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh, takes you to a bygone era.

Places to see:
  • Fort Complex: An excellent place to visit, it consists of 3 parts, namely
    Raj Mahal: a 17 century palace with chhatris and exquisite murals in bold colors.
  • Jehangir Mahal - Another 17 century palace, it has strong lines nicely balanced by exquisite chattris
  • Rai Parveen Mahal - Built for Rai Parveen, a beautiful paramour of Raja Indramani.
  • Ram Raja Temple - This temple has wonderful patterns of domes built on a square base. The extraordinary stonework is worth noting
  • Uth Khana - Built next to the fort, this is where the king's camels were kept. If you reach the rooftop you would get the best view of the Orccha town
