DAY 01 : Delhi - Mandawa
Arrive at Delhi and depart for Mandawa (280 kms / 6 hrs drive approx) on the 1st day of your Rajasthan tour. On arrival check-in at the hotel.
In the heart of the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan, is located the beautiful small town Mandawa, known throughout the state for its forts
and havelis. The structures of this place reminds one of the cultural and social hotspot this place used to be in the by gone era. Evening
is to be at leisure. Overnight stay is at the hotel.
DAY 02 : Mandawa - Bikaner
After breakfast, on the second day of your Rajasthan tour package, undertake a visit around Mandawa and Shekhawati region. This region is famous
for the various havelis, which are extravagantly carved and painted. Later drive to Bikaner en route visiting Fatehpur, a town once ruled by the
Muslims. Here one must look out for the Devra and Singhania Havelis, which are unmatched. Arrive at Bikaner and check-in at the hotel.
Overnight stay is at the hotel.
DAY 03 : Bikaner - Jaisalmer
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel in the morning and then visit the Bikaner city. It is bolstered by imposing walls and has a 16th century fort
housing old palaces, temples and a mosque. It was founded by Raja Rai Singh. The fort is distinguished by its long range of 37 pavilions. A line
of balconies and aerial windows of varying designs. An enormous arched doorway leads to the Jormal temple. The royal chapel is Har Mandir where
royal weddings and births were once celebrated.
Later as per the plan of Rajasthan package holiday, depart for Jaisalmer (330 kms/8 hrs). En route visit "Deshnoke Temple." This temple is dedicated
to the mystic Karni Mata. The huge silver gates of the temple and the marble carvings were donated by Maharaja Ganga Singh. The temple is infested
with holy rats. As you stroll around the temple rats play leapfrog over your bare feet. Later drive to Jaisalmer. On arrival check-in to the hotel.
This is an action packed day on your Rajasthan travel package. Overnight stay is at the hotel.
DAY 04 : Jaisalmer
After breakfast on the fourth day of your Rajasthan vacation, visit the various Havelis. They are known for exquisite work of the Silavats
(Stone carvers) of Jaisalmer. It attained its peak of excellence during the 18th and the 19th centuries, rivaling the quality of the carved
marble of the Taj Mahal at Agra. Among the other famous havelis are the Patwon ki haveli (House of the Brocade Merchants), Nathmalji ki haveli
(The mansion of Nathmalji), and the Salim Singh haveli. Wander through Jaisalmer's narrow lanes and visit the small silversmith's shops, and the
stalls selling leather craft goods.
Later your Rajasthan travel itinerary suggests a drive up to the Citadel to witness the Sunset which will leave you spell bound.
Later in the afternoon visit the Sam Sand Dunes - This is a typical ethnic village situated 40 kilometers from Jaisalmer known for its decorated
mud thatched buildings. Visitors are attracted here by shifting sand dunes, which are some 80 meters, and the high, and beautiful sunsets. Enjoy a
camel ride in the Desert. Overnight stay is at the hotel.
DAY 05 : Jaisalmer - Jodhpur
After breakfast, depart for Jodhpur (285 kms/ 6-7 hrs approx ). Jodhpur is at the edge of the Thar Desert and is the largest city in Rajasthan
after Jaipur. Arrive and check-in at the hotel. In the afternoon visit the impressive Mehrangarh Fort on a 37 m low sandstone hill built by Rao
Jodha in 1459. From the top of the fort one can get a bird's eye view of the old city. You will notice here a predominance of blue houses referred
to as Brahmin houses - the color being associated with their high caste. Proceed to the Jaswant Thada, an imposing marble cenotaph built in 1899
for Maharajah Jaswant Singh II, and smaller memorials for other Maharajahs of Jodhpur. At the end of the tour enjoy a short walk through the local
and vibrant bazaar of Jodhpur. Overnight stay is at the hotel.
DAY 06 : Jodhpur - Ranakpur - Udaipur
After breakfast, drive to Udaipur en route visiting Ranakpur. The town houses the wonderful 3 temples of the Jain sect dating back to the 14th/15th
century. The unforgettable main Temple dedicated to Adinatha the first Tirthankar (1439), is built in marble and took 65 years to complete. It is
one of the five holy Jain pilgrimage centers, and has one of the best temple complexes. On arrival in Udaipur, check into the hotel. Overnight stay
is at the hotel.
DAY 07 : Udaipur
After breakfast, visit the City Palace. Once entirely the home of Mewar's rulers, it is today largely a museum run by the Maharana Mewar Foundation.
It actually consists of four major and several minor palaces forming a single breathtaking facade overlooking the Pichola lake.
Visit the Jagdish Mandir. Located close to the main gate of City Palace, it is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Later visit the Sahelion ki Bari
(Garden of the maids of honor) and the Bharatiya lok kala Mandal. Also visit the bazaar areas Hathipol, Chetak Circle, Clock Tower Palace Road,
Bapur Bazar and the city market. You get talk toys, brightly colored garments, tie and dye sarees and turbans, hand painted textiles, cane furniture
as well as local silver jewelery.
Late afternoon enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola (on your own). The lake is surrounded by splendid
hills, palace, temples, bathing Ghats and embankments. Visit the Island Palace Jag Niwas which is beautifully set in the Lake. Overnight stay is at
DAY 08 : Udaipur - Ajmer
After having breakfast, drive to Ajmer (380 kms- 8 hrs). On arrival check in at your hotel. In the afternoon visit the Tomb of the Sufi Saint,
Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti and the Dargah Sharif. The city was founded by the Chauhan ruler, Aiaipal, during the 11th century and is dominated by The
Taragarh Fort built by Prithviraj Chauhan. Overnight stay is at the hotel.
DAY 09 : Ajmer - Jaipur
After breakfast depart for Jaipur (150 kms - 3 hrs drive). Arrive and check-in at the hotel. In the afternoon depart for half day city tour of
Jaipur and visit the City Palace and Museum. Walk to the adjacent Jantar Mantar- an astronomical observatory. Drive past the Hawa Mahal, the Palace
of winds. Overnight stay is at the hotel.
DAY 10 : Jaipur - Delhi
This is the last day of your royal Rajasthan holidays. After breakfast, visit the Amber fort, built in the 16th century. Enjoy an Elephant ride at
Amber (on your own). In the afternoon depart for Delhi (257 km / 5 hrs). On arrival in Delhi you will be transferred to airport / railway station for
your onward journey.
